Burrow Mump Walk

Saturday 7th January 2017

It’s interesting that I come to write about this walk in this moment, as I’m contemplating a return to the same area this coming weekend, with a few added miles.

Burrow Mump is best-known for its iconic church ruin atop the mound. South-east of Bridgwater but deep within the Somerset Levels.

Walking in Wells

Today has been a day off from walking and, under all-too-familiar circumstances for 2014, the weather is largely to blame for that. There’s also the fact that my boots are still soaked from last Sunday’s walk around England’s smallest city! Crook Peak Complete!

Today, I feel absolutely shattered. My legs ache as they haven’t done for many weeks. My throat is making a sound that suggests I’m still half-asleep and even my head’s still about twelve-hours behind. I was intending to get out in to the workshop and to finish two boxes I’ve been making but they’ll have to wait. I need this day (thank goodness, it’s a Bank Holiday) to rest and recover. So, I’ll use my time this afternoon to write about my third walk-leading experience from yesterday.
