Boxes for Christmas

Fear not, I’m still alive and I do still have intentions of getting back in the workshop before Christmas! Other things have been taking over lately and, as I did state recently, I’m enjoying a bit of a break from my seven-year-long ‘obsession‘ with this craft.

As I mentioned on my Facebook page recently, I’m planning to make and complete a couple of boxes in time for Christmas. If I can, I’ll document them, write about them (not just here) and offer them for publication in a UK magazine. If I don’t keep them both then, I already have a recipient in mind for one and I may try to offer the other as well.

Right now, I’m just looking forward to completing a small but enjoyable project like this. It’s been about five-years since I last made a box like this!

Revisiting an Old Box (Part 3)

It’s been almost a month since my last update on this topic so, without further ado, here is a series of finished photographs I took earlier this afternoon. They’ve also been doctored slightly… If you haven’t already noticed, I’ve been doing this regularly with my photos for the last couple of months. The program I’ve been using is Photoscape, which just so happened to be the top result presented by Google when I searched “free photo editing software“! đŸ˜‰

It may not be Photoshop but, it’s good enough for me.

Drawer-ing to a Close

While I should be cracking on with my exhibition pieces (only two months to go, now!!), I’ve fallen back on to the English cherry bookshelf I was working on a few weeks ago. Partly because I need to regain some space on top of my workbench; but also, because I need some time to reflect and consider a couple of points on my other pieces.
