New Year’s Eve on Glastonbury Tor

Saturday 31st December 2016 / Sunday 1st January 2017

To close 2015, Brunel Walking Group headed up to the summit of Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons. By all accounts, it was a dry but chilly time.

A similar plan was in place for the final day of 2016. But, this idea was hampered by a deterring weather forecast across South Wales. An alternative arrangement was made to climb Glastonbury Tor instead.

NYE by the Sea

Thursday 31st December 2015

My final walk of 2015 was a coastal one, although not part the coastal walk I’ve been doing with a friend. I had hoped to do a long walk on New Year’s Eve – much like last year, when I ended up walking twenty-one miles from and to my doorstep. But the wet weather this week has been somewhat relentless and, on the driest day we’ve had this past week, I lost a couple of hours having new tyres fitted to my car.

Reluctant to sit indoors wishing the time away, I chose a fairly ‘easy’ short walk down at Burnham-on-Sea. Perhaps only for a couple of hours until lunch, before further rain was forecast to fall.

2013 – Stats in Review

So, with 2013 about to close, I could sit here and write something far more constructive as an end to another year. I’ve spent the entire day reflecting on everything I’ve gained and learned (along with the few things I’ve lost) and, if I was to begin to write it out now, well, I wouldn’t be hitting that ‘Publish’ button before midnight, that’s for sure! So, instead, I’ve decided to share with you the stats that WordPress provide at this time every annum.
