A Priddy Good Walk

Sunday marked the fourth walk that I have lead this year and I have hopes for leading a fifth before 2016 passes… Even though, I’ve yet to decide which one I’m definitely going to submit.

Sadly, I didn’t take any photos from the day but the ones you’ll see in this post are from another Priddy pre-walk to finalise the final portion of this walk, from Friday evening.

West Harptree Wander (Part 2)

Sunday 3rd July 2016

It was somewhere around midday as I passed through the small village of Litton. Lunch was only an hour away and I knew where I would hope to stop in time.

But instead of taking a more direct route west to East Harptree Woods, I would now be looking to join the Monarch’s Way further south, so I could tick off a few more miles of this long-distance route.

Wotto’ Lovely Walk

Sunday 10th January 2016

My most recent walk was up in the southern half of the Cotswolds, beginning and ending in Wotton-Under-Edge. Without resorting to an internet search, I’ve no idea where the town gains its name – it’s not as self explanatory as, say, Bourton-on-the-Water…

This was a group walk led by someone else and the first time I had joined Brunel Walking Group since July of last year, when I led an unfortunately wet and wild walk across the Mendips. With a slightly more forgiving forecast for the day of this occasion.

A Priddy Good Day

Today, I took myself out for a walk. There wasn’t much activity going on in the walking group (well, they had a training day for anyone interested in learning to lead a walk) and a couple of my friends were either ill or busy. So, I headed out alone. Priddy was an area of the Mendips that I hadn’t previously explored and there was one walk in my book (Three Priddy Droves) that had been on my to-do list for a while. Completing this one would mean that I had essentially ‘completed’ each of the 8 Wild Walks Across the Mendip Hills.

Before we go any further, I’d like you to take a look at the map below.

‘Three Priddy Droves’ – a 4.5 mile walk around the Mendip Hills in Somerset, UK.
