‘The Cat’s Back’ (Part 1)

This was to be my first ever walk in the Black Mountains. I’d already postponed it by seven-days due to a poor weather forecast and, while a clear sky was not predicted for this occasion, had faith that it would remain dry.

It took just over ninety-minutes for me to cross the River Severn and arrive at the picnic site on the foot of Black Hill… Which is officially classed as being on the English side of the border.

Malvern Hills – July 2016 (Part 2)

Sunday 31st July 2016

At the end of Part 1, I’d reached what was effectively the ‘pinnacle’ in my sixteen-mile loop around the Malvern Hills.

Now, at a road bend between Upper and Lower Wyche, I was preparing for a triumphant return along the tops of hills I had yet to discover.
