Screw You Clutter

It’s almost time for me to share a recent walk across the Quantocks but before I get to that, I need to share my latest battle in the fight against clutter.

Home is Where the Heat Is

I’m relieved to finally be able to say that my bathroom finally has a source of heating!

It may not be plumbed-in and it may only be available ‘on demand’ but it’s got to improve the prospect of showering next winter!

Take My Money

After accepting a pleasant amount of money over the weekend in exchange for my planer/thicknesser, this week has so far begun with a stark ‘warning’ that makes me feel as though I’m ‘not allowed’ to keep any additional money that doesn’t come in as part of my average working wage.

About Heating

If you’ve read closely within my other posts on the flat I’ve been living in since November, you might’ve picked up on the fact that there’s been a persistent ‘issue’ with the heating in my current home. I believe I also touched on this in the YouTube video I filmed where I walked you around the property. I’ve been wanting to write this post for a while. In fact, I was intending to include this in my follow up video (but for destroying my camera in an attempted DIY repair…).

It’s a subject where the ‘fear of who could be reading‘ has deterred me from making it all public but I’m pleased to now be able to report that there has recently been some significant progress made.

Freecyclin’

On a day where I’d usually be out roaming the countryside, I’ve instead decided to take some time out to continue to furnish my new home with the help of Freecycle. Severe flooding has hit Bristol and North Somerset in recent days and with rain continuing to fall as I type this, I’m actually quite glad to be indoors today.

My New Home

As I’ve mentioned twice very recently; I moved home last month and I’m now living alone in a small flat (without a workshop). It’s in a village known as Wrington; between Bristol and Weston-super-Mare but still only a few miles from the area in which I have grown up in. Wrington is a new village to me. I mean, I’d not even driven through this area before the initial viewing last month. It’s all exciting and scary at the same time. I could go on about a lot of things but for now, I’ve decided to share with you some photos I’ve taken this evening, which should give you an idea of the what I’m living in and the layout.

Welcome to my new home!

In a future post, I intend to take you around the village to show you what it has to offer. A couple of weeks ago, I filmed some video footage for a ‘flat tour’ that I’m yet to upload to YouTube.

Technologically Moaning

Tonight, I’d like to have a little moan about technology, which is usually something I’m in full praise of. This particular issue has been on my mind for several weeks and you’ll have a good idea of where I’m headed with this from the photo below.

As I began to write this post, I’ve just received an e-mail from a customer… It’s made me feel a bit sick inside. It’s not something you would like or expect to see as a maker and I do sincerely hope it’s just a one-off. It’s not their fault and, when I can find the word to reply, I’ll have to acknowledge that it is my responsibility. I might well bring this up in a separate post sometime but, as of right now, I haven’t yet figured out how it could have happened… Mystery, is the word!
