My Latest Fix

If you’re a regular reader of my work and any previous WIP (work-in-progress) threads on the UKworkshop forum then, you’ll know I’m not someone who gets things right all the time! I’m not afraid to admit to all mistakes I make and I like to think if helps others to learn and prevent them (you!) from producing the same errors! I could never make a piece of furniture with one or two mistakes and then lie about it at the end; saying that it all went together perfectly – that’s just not me!

Drawer-ing to a Close

While I should be cracking on with my exhibition pieces (only two months to go, now!!), I’ve fallen back on to the English cherry bookshelf I was working on a few weeks ago. Partly because I need to regain some space on top of my workbench; but also, because I need some time to reflect and consider a couple of points on my other pieces.

Looking Toward 2010

It may have taken me over two-months but, I’m now ready to make the transition over here, to WordPress! Sadly, it is time to close the door on my UKworkshop Blog; I hope we don’t lose many followers in the process! That blog was dead easy to easy and was, in fact, no more challenging than making a post on any the forums.  I feel it lacked the flexibility that some of the others sites can offer, which is why I’m here. I did also consider Blogger, which has proven to be very popular over the years. But, in trying to keep up with the times, WordPress appears to be the new no.1.

So, where to start?

As you some of you may have read in my previous blog, I am keen to participate in a local exhibition for Bristol-based furniture makers, early next year (currently pencilled in for February). Continue reading…
