My New Flat

I’m sorry it’s been so very long since I last wrote on this blog. While it’s not an excuse or reason for this absence, I’ve gone through the process of moving home, over the past month. In this post, I’m going to share with you some views of my new home.

New Year, New Clutter

So, we’re now in to Month 2 of 2015 and how are your New Year’s Resolutions coming along?

I’m making a renewed effort to clear more clutter from my home and in this post, I’ll be looking briefly at some of the items I’ve selected over the past month.

Kitchen Complete?

There was a third DIY task that I accomplished in the kitchen over the weekend and it was without a doubt the simplest task of them all, even though I suspect some people may not be as accustomed to to this kind of job as others…

I installed a simple wall rack for hanging saucepan lids.

Tackling Kitchen Clutter

For too long, I’ve had to wrestle with my pots and pans when it comes to storage. I don’t like the idea of stuffing them down in a low cupboard or drawer where they’d be hard to reach (as a tall person) and would most likely end up unbalanced and ready to tumble. Clutter Update

So, I’ve been living with the addition of ‘excess workshop clutter‘ for about three-weeks now and my casual efforts to declutter are progressing. New Clutter

While it may’ve been my birthday eight-days ago, that Monday was also the day in which I decided to clear out and close the door on my first workshop for the final time. A previous weekend had seen the majority of my tools and kit tucked away in to self storage. But I’d left myself with a floor-covering off odds-and-sodds to gather or give-away. Somehow, prolonging the inevitable and procrastinating would make it feel like I wasn’t having to let go just yet…

Welcome home…

Because of such of undesirable habits, I found myself with nowhere else to dump these items in such short notice and so, here they are, on the carpet of the one-bedroom flat within which I reside.

Cutting the Clutter

We’re already halfway through February and I reckon I’ve got about 6 weeks left before my workshop needs to be empty. Over this weekend, I believe I may have secured a space in which to store (not use) my larger tools and machinery, along with my workbench. There are still two of three items that I intend to sell. On Friday afternoon, I had a good crack at sorting through some more of the unnecessary clutter.

Un-wanted and under-used jigs.
