Having amassed an impressive total of nine-hundred-and-sixty-five miles for the whole of 2016, I began January with the aim of exceeding the figure by the end of December.

#Walk1000Miles – December 2016

Just as I finished writing up my walks from November, 2016 draws to an end.

It’s time to review my final month’s mileage and to see how I faired in my first year of the #Walk1000Miles challenge.

#Walk1000Miles – November 2016

Here we are, then. Just one month to go until the end of 2016.

It’s inevitable that I’ve already achieved my personal target of eight-hundred miles. But, with weekend of flooding across the local region and a sharp drop in temperatures to sub-zero; how much walking did I manage in the month that was November?

#Walk1000Miles – October 2016

Suddenly, we’re so very close to the end of 2016. I honestly feel as though I should only be summarising September in this post – in fact, the first thing I did was to type the wrong month in this post’s title!

#Walk1000Miles – July 2016

I immediately feel as though this past month is going to be one in which I’ve ‘under-achieved’, when it comes to my overall mileage…

That’s in spite of recent attempts to ‘boost’ my tally over the weekend now behind us and, of course, the time I spent down in Cornwall.

#Walk1000Miles – June 2016

I fear I’m going to be disappointed with my tally for the month that was June. It began so very well and I felt confident that I’d be able to break a century, with relative ease.

But in the second half of the month – and, what seems destined to continue in to July – we saw a large amount of rainfall among many grey days. Does anyone else remember the heatwave at the beginning of June?

Let’s take a look…
